Workwear according to HACCP for the food industry
Occupation-specific clothing is something we encounter every day, from police officers to nurses. The food industry also has its very own workwear - food clothing. The aim of this special clothing, also known as HACCP clothing, is to ensure quality assurance in the production and handling of food.
HACCP clothing for greater food safety
HACCP clothing is mandatory in all professions that produce, process or prepare food. HACCP stands for "hazard analysis and critical control points" and is a quality tool designed to ensure food safety. The HACCP concept divides food clothing into three different risk groups, each of which has different requirements.
Composing food clothing correctly
The appearance of HACCP clothing is clearly defined. For example, no colored overgarments may be worn in risk classes 2 and 3, and external pockets on tops or bottoms are prohibited. This is to prevent small parts from accidentally contaminating production. As food clothing must be particularly hard-wearing and robust, we also offer products from our in-house production under the "Ehlert Basic" and "Ehlert Profi" brands. Our products from the latter brand in particular are characterized by a very long service life and good shrinkage and pilling properties.
Top garments of the highest quality
HACCP-compliant tops must meet various requirements: Short-sleeved tops are only permitted in risk class 1 and should nevertheless always be complemented by long-sleeved clothing. In addition, all tops must always be long enough to completely cover any outside pockets on pants.
Especially robust bottoms for daily work
HACCP bottoms, on the other hand, must not only comply with all hygiene regulations, but also be robust enough to withstand daily wear and tear. The same rule applies here: short leg maximum in risk class 1.
Coats and overcoats for quick changes
The all-rounders among food clothing: They cover sleeves that are too short, ensure hygiene safety, cover open pockets and button plackets and can be put on quickly and easily. Coats are particularly popular wherever there is a regular change of clothes.
Hoods and hoods are essential
Another important aspect of food clothing is headwear:
hoods and hoods not only protect hair from influences such as various vapors, grease or powdery substances, but can also reliably protect your production from falling hair.
Maximum food safety with coveralls
Coveralls are real all-rounders in the food-processing industries. The closed design means that only five clearly defined risk points (hands, feet, head) need to be taken into account in further product protection equipment. With matching hats, gloves and boots, it is possible to create fully closed clothing.
Vests and jackets for quick changes from warm to cold
Do your employees regularly have to switch between areas with normal temperatures and a cold store? Vests and jackets for quick changes maintain your food safety standards while reliably protecting your employees from hypothermia.
